Raised in Indiana and schooled at Ringling's School of Art in Florida, Bonnie Shields drifted northward to become legislated as the state of Tennessee's "Official Mule Artist." She quickly showed her gratitude by running away to the West and ending up so far in Northern Idaho that she is close enough to breathe Canadian air!

Awards abound for Bonnie, but her greatest gift to all is her astounding sense of humor and her adamant refusal to take herself or life too seriously...a trait her art reflects. Bonnie has illustrated many books and videos.
